We are a small but steadily growing museum, based near to Cambridge, dedicated to honouring all those who served at Bottisham Airfield during the 1940’s: The RAF, the USAAF 8th Airforce and the Belgian Air Force, and also remembering the contribution made by local people.
The museum was founded in 2009 and in the years since, we have assembled a wide variety of exhibits, ranging from clothing to documents to relics from aircraft crash sites. One of our construction projects is to create a replica P-51 Mustang cockpit using original parts where possible.
We acquired the last remaining, original WW2 buildings, formed a registered charity to protect them and have restored them to how they looked in 1944.
Hi. Is the airfield runway still active?
No I’m afraid not – last active in late 1950’s.
My friend Helen and I visited your Museum last October and had a most fabulous time. We are looking forward to revisit you when you open this
