The refurbishment of the museum continues apace with the museum expected to be shut until Spring/Summer 2019.
The current schedule of work includes much need work to replace the asbestos roof, work to address the structural issues in the buildings, re-rendering the outside of the buildings, replacing the windows and re-wiring the electrics.
This work has been made possible by the generosity of one individual.
It is expected the work will be completed by January/February 2019 if everything runs to schedule.
However once the exterior work is completed there will be a massive amount of work to complete the refurbishment of the interior. We are currently looking into ways of funding this work and hope to make an announcement shortly.
This work will include returning some of the interior to how it looked in June 1944.
This will not only involve a lot of fundraising to pay for the work but will also many volunteers to carry out the work. We hope to re-open the museum in Summer 2019 but this won’t be possible without a lot of help. If you are interested in volunteering please contact me firstname.lastname@example.org
